What will you learn?

You will learn how to palpate all crucial bony landmarks for your global posture assessment and analysis in both the sagittal and frontal planes and how to correctly secure skin markers.

Description

Accurately and consistently placing markers on the subject’s body on bony anatomical landmarks is paramount to ensuring measurement reliability, repeatability and validity. After placing markers and acquiring the standardised photo materials on the GPS Postural Labs, we will make measurements between markers. The accuracy of your measurements thus relies heavily on the accuracy and consistency of your marker placement. In this lesson we review how to consistently palpate these landmarks and give you tips and tricks to assure maximum accuracy for your global posture systems measurements.

Who can be interested in this course?

Conventional diagnostic and therapeutic approaches often fail to address the underlying causes of posture-related injuries and disorders. This can lead to treatment failure and frequent relapses. Many therapists have found that including the patient’s global posture in the clinical reasoning paradigm is key to an effective, fast and efficient treatment process. Performing a detailed global posture analysis is an essential part of a more holistic therapeutic approach and treatment strategy.

Global posture represents a common language among the various medical disciplines. There is always value in considering and observing the patient as whole, whether from a curative or preventive viewpoint. That is why global posture assessment and analysis is key in an interdisciplinary approach to the patient. This course is thus recommended for the following professional categories:
